I've worked in various parts of the brokerage business in both sales and operations for more than fifteen years and consider myself a 'student-of-the-market' for more than twenty. As a broker, I held licenses to trade stocks, bond, mutual funds, commodities and options on all of them. I figured I hit my professional 'peak' when I achieved the Fellow of the Canadian Securities Institute (FCSI) designation in 2005. But I have always had a love/hate relationship with the brokerage business and decided to leave the business and 'go-out-on-my-own' in 2007. I got my formal start in technical analysis but believe most of the valuable tools I've have learned over the years are based more on common sense then any 'magic-wand' trading tool. Having said that, there are some really nifty little tools I have learned to greatly help investing performance.
